Major Aspects
There are two major aspects this month. The first is the intense Pluto/Saturn conjunction which eases up a bit over the summer as both planets are retrograde and pulling away from each other. The other is Jupiter square Neptune, which can be pleasant and sometimes even dreamy. The problem is that the euphoria Jupiter with Neptune creates may be based on “false promises” so when the aspect is square, WATCH OUT! An optimistic belief in good fortune may blind us to the darker designs of ignoble people who use deception and fear to achieve their objectives. However, their delusions of grandeur from wielding the privileges of power will work for only so long…
Should the financial under-pinnings of a gradually crumbling global economy not be corrected, the US house-of-cards may come tumbling down, leaving banks and stock brokers scrambling, not to mention the rest of us. Venus, a money planet, begins June in Taurus, which she rules, so the markets should go up, at least until June 9th, when Venus enters Gemini signaling that markets may experience volatile uncertainty once again. The greater crash is coming… just not yet.
The Planets
On June 2nd, the Sun will complete the T-square with Jupiter and Neptune, making us feel a bit under-the-weather, or otherwise low-energy for a few days as the month begins. The New Moon brings social uplift in chatty Gemini on June 3rd, when it’s finally safe to plant outdoors in Colorado! YEH!
Open to inspiring insights and innovations from June 5th to the 8th as Mercury in nurturing Cancer sextiles Uranus in wise Taurus. However, for whole chunks of the month, Uranus will be completely unaspected, meaning it forms no aspects with the other transiting planets. Aspects between planets help integrate the diverse energies of our lives in acceptable ways. Without aspects to focus the energies of a planet, they have a tendency to “go rogue”, hold a very singular mindset, act in uniquely unexpected, strange, and sometimes anti-social ways, or behave like ex-dec planets. Such planets do not integrate well with others.
An unaspected Uranus in a natal chart usually indicates an iconoclast, a revolutionary, a uniquely creative genius, the “fool on the hill”, or a weirdo. When transiting Uranus, the planet of sudden, unexpected shock, remains unaspected for a prolonged period, the world may witness “the unexpected” in unusual ways – from volatility in the stock market, shocking revelations, instability in global politics, to rumblings in the heavens and earth throughout June.
During most of the month, favorable and unfavorable aspects seem quite balanced, which means that you can manifest “good or bad” depending on what you focus on. Dark thoughts and acts reap somber results, while focusing on and expressing happiness and light will bring you more of the same.
With the adventurous Sagittarius Full Moon of June 16-17th tensions rise as Saturn (time) and Pluto (the “Underworld”) straddle the Capricorn South Node (ripples from the past) while opposing loquacious Mars and Mercury on the sensitive Cancer North Node. Intense arguments abound regarding destiny, purpose and how to direct our energies in an efficient and effective way towards a meaningful conclusion! Meanwhile, the Full Moon hugs Jupiter, lightening the general mood and making us want to hug someone too. [As the Moon grows full, look for the closest bright “star” in the night sky – which will be Jupiter around the 16th.]
This opposition involving Saturn, Pluto, Mars, Mercury and the Nodes may stir up especially stressful situations in June. There may be conflicts between work responsibilities and taking care of your family, between “the authorities” and “the people”, between corporations and the Earth. Partisanship will also be extreme!
After the Full Moon on the 16th, Mercury and Mars trip into a square with Uranus on the 27th which continues into July. This can lead to some shocking declarations and unexpected changes. Mars and Mercury were both “ex-dec” as June began, and are starting to “cool off” as the month pulls to a close. Perhaps wiser minds can prevail now.
Summer Solstice
The Summer Solstice chart shows more tension and strife than harmony in society. However, Jupiter sextiles the Moon which trines Venus, making social parties and romantic pursuits favorable, but only IF you can avoid conflict and arguments. Leave political discussions for another time.
Around the Solstice is an excellent time to set your intentions for the upcoming quarter. What do you want to promote, further, and develop this summer, and what do you want to reduce or leave behind? Be as clear as possible as you set your sights on the accomplishments you wish to achieve as well as activating long-term visions for the future. Combining clarity and intention at Solstice and Equinox times is powerful! May the Gaia Force be with you this summer!
