Buckle up because November brings anxiety, uncertainty, and potential depression for many, as winter approaches, so do your best to keep your spirits up. On November 1st all planetary aspects are difficult, except one trine from Mercury-in-Scorpio to Jupiter-in-Aquarius which is excellent for writers, publishers, and communicators, as well as for clarifying our beliefs. All other aspects on the 1st show constriction or contraction. The Moon (our emotions) opposes Neptune (broken dreams or setbacks), Moon squares Venus (relationship or social constraints), Moon sesquisquares Saturn (disappointments), and Moon trines Pluto (intensity and extreme sensitivity). By noon on November first, a harsh Thor’s Hammer from Moon-square-Venus-sesquisquare-Uranus briefly awakens sympathy for those who face upheaval.
New Moon
On November 4th we begin a new lunation cycle at 12 degrees Scorpio with a darkening of the Light at New Moon as Sun/Moon exactly oppose unpredictable Uranus-in-Taurus, signifying that disruptions and inevitable change can be expected during the times ahead.
As the Sun illuminates Neptune by trine on the 6th through the 16th, some new angle, approach, or understanding about an aspect of your life or topics in the news are likely to be revealed. On November 9th the Moon conjuncts Pluto-in-Capricorn for additional emotional intensity felt around some governmental or corporate situation.
Mars-in-Scorpio, joined by Mercury-trine-Neptune (lively yet sensitive communications), tighten their square to Saturn-in-Aquarius (obstacles and misunderstandings), exact on the 10th. The Sun also squares Jupiter (excess) and trines Neptune (spiritual idealism). By the 13th Venus trines Uranus (take a break while you consider your options) and sextiles Mars (then assert yourself). Meanwhile, the Sun trines Moon-conjunct-Neptune (inner peace), suggesting it’s a good weekend for romance, dreaming, relaxing, and doing something uniquely different (like protesting?). However, also on the 13th, Mars and Mercury oppose Uranus (hasty scattered thinking) while T-squaring Saturn (frustrating obstacles and delays), affecting supply line holdups and making for a tense mid-month. Avoid arguments where ever possible.
Mid-month
Meanwhile, on the world stage, tensions heat up with social fury aimed at employers and governments over the ubiquitous vaccine mandates as a public health strategy to end the lingering pandemic. Since such mandates are perceived by many as a step-too-far, some people would prefer to call in sick or revolt in the streets than get vaccinated. Thousands are giving up their jobs rather than comply! Others are refusing to work where they feel disrespected and underpaid, so the labor market is being seriously affected, which further aggravates availability of supplies and services. With Mercury, Mars, Sun, Moon, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune all negatively activated this month, there is plenty of confusion and misinformation around the vaccines themselves, the mandates, the rationale behind those mandates, enforcement inconsistencies, and protests.
Such tensions could further stall the passage of important Biden legislation, thanks to Senators Manchin and Sinema, who are taking huge “donations” from petroleum or coal lobbyists (who insist on obscene profits while exacerbating climate change), Big Pharma (who are causing thousands to die by refusing to share their formulas internationally for making vaccines), and corporations (who pay virtually no taxes to support the society they profit from), to line their own pockets instead of protecting the working class and America’s climate future. This is political bribery and greed. The Earth and all her people will continue to suffer as a result.
By November 14th the Uranus/Saturn square reappears with an additional square to Mars, T-squaring Saturn (high tension leads to radical actions), further amplifying its destructive impact. This “signature 2021 outer planet square” will be exact for its final pass on Christmas eve but the square aspect will continue stirring dissent into February. It highlights the conflict between the establishment (Saturn) and the People (Uranus) which often leads to radical confrontations. Whatever has become too rigid will shatter under its pressure. In extreme cases, governments may be overthrown and structures destroyed. Disgruntled worker strikes will likely continue, and some relationships, if not sound, could breakup as well.
A more positive manifestation of Saturn-square-Uranus is “creative change without destructive revolution” (from Rob Hand’s seminal book, Planets in Transit), so in personal situations, use innovative “tricks” to pierce resistance and to progress along a positive path. On the 16th the Moon aggravates tension by squaring Pluto (compulsive behaviors or deep self-analysis) and on the 17th the Moon conjuncts Uranus (impulsive moods may lead to regrets).
Lunar Eclipse
November 19th begins the last eclipse season of 2021, switching from the Sagittarius/Gemini polarity to the Scorpio/Taurus axis, which will continue over the next 2 years. Eclipses shake up the status quo while illuminating our karmic path.
With a shift in focus, Scorpio/Taurus dives deeper into the cultural and systemic ROT that characterizes a country’s systems or culture over time. Scorpio is about purging whatever has spoiled, seeking to fix debt and tax issues (8th house topics ruled by Scorpio), while Taurus pertains to what we treasure – money, natural resources, systems and principles.
These two signs rule finance, thus this eclipse season is setting the stage for an upcoming global economic shake-down, exemplified by the Pluto Return in the US chart’s 2nd house of money, resources, and values (ruled by Taurus). Transiting Pluto’s approaching conjunction with the US chart’s natal Pluto is already within a 3-degree orb. The exact conjunction will occur 3 times in 2022, starting in February – just ahead! It looks like Pluto’s difficult transformation (destruction and rebuilding for a better future) of our financial system is inevitable, so do not take on new debt at this juncture and save for the proverbial “rainy day” which may be right around the corner.
The Lunar Eclipse’s Scorpio Sun is widely conjunct Mercury, opposing the Taurus full Moon. Together they form a double T-square to Jupiter (setting long-range goals while exacerbating current inflationary pressures). However, the main theme of this lunar eclipse is EXCESS and GREED (Jupiter) which are destabilizing our financial systems with extreme inequality. A few individuals own more than the millions of workers they depend on to create their exorbitant wealth, yet corporate CEOs disdain to pay their workers even a living wage while they rake in millions! This eclipse is warning that such an extreme imbalance MUST be corrected if our country and the Earth are to thrive! That correction is just ahead and is likely to be painful for the poor.
Mars opposes Uranus (revolution) until November 25th while Uranus squares Saturn (upheaval) for several months, so prepare for tough times ahead! Some doors will close while others open, so watch for opportunities and grab them when you can. But also be willing to let go of whatever no longer serves your growth. Determine who you can depend on, and stock up on necessities as the future looks challenging. Cherish happy moments and be grateful for neighbors because we will need each other as we face the uncertainties that lie ahead. Have no fear, but pay attention to what’s happening around you, and respond appropriately. Know that you have what it takes to be healthy, wholistic and safe. As the darkness increases, so does the Light, so focus on the silver lining as our consciousness evolves through the challenges of these troubling times! Take care of yourself and your loved ones. Good Luck!
