Mercury
Mercury makes 4 major aspects in June. It also changes direction, stationing direct while squaring Saturn on June 3rd, re-enters Gemini on June 13th, and the ‘messenger planet’ trines Pluto on the 10th deepening our comprehension and perspective while delivering dark news. Mercury sextiles Jupiter on the 20th, expanding the mind philosophically and fine-tuning negotiations. On the 27th, Mercury sextiles Chiron, heightening our moral principles while stimulating intellectual curiosity.
Mars
Mars in Aries gets feisty on the 1st as he squares the rebellious asteroid, Lilith. Then mid-month Mars conjuncts Chiron, so be careful with sharp cutting instruments around the 15th. And be mindful as you work patiently toward accomplishing your goals, especially near the end of the month when Mars sextiles Saturn. Mars amplifies energy while Saturn builds stamina to work diligently on long-range tasks with an eye to future accomplishments, not immediate ones.
Venus
Venus is unaspected as the month of June begins. There are NO conjunctions, oppositions, squares, trines, or sextiles between Venus and the other transiting planets during the first week of June, with brief exceptions for the fast-moving Moon and the chart’s angles, which vary with different locales. Venus rules relationships, social connections, and the desire for wealth and ease. But when unaspected, any planet is not well integrated within the human psyche due to its lack of connection with the other planets. This amplifies the intensity and one-pointed focus of an unaspected planet, which by its isolation and lack of connection, makes its behavior hard to anticipate or control, and he/she becomes a bit of a ‘wildcard’. People with unaspected planets in their natal chart can be unpredictable, immoderate, sporadic, compulsive, and occasionally, GENIUS.
With an unaspected Venus, social adaptabilities become constrained and one may feel like a wallflower – socially inept and unengaged. Affections may be blocked as emotional sensitivities get triggered. So if isolation or compulsion become problematic during the early part of June, give yourself (or another) some extra space, and lower your expectations about what others may be willing to do for you or with you during the first week of June. Thankfully, Venus revives as she greets Uranus on the 11th for some unusual or unexpected encounters. By the 15th, a conjunction of Venus and the North Node suggests a rendezvous with fate or an auspicious meeting. On June 16th, the Sun trines Saturn (increased determination) while squaring Neptune (added confusion and misinformation). These times are not easy!
Around the 18th Saturn lays down the law while squaring Venus, threatening vulnerable women. Yet Venus also entertains some romantic notions during a sextile to Neptune on the 19th and reminds powerful Pluto to keep its oath on the 21st. Venus ends the month cautiously embracing Jupiter-square-Sun for support. The People stand behind her! This aspect is good for discipline, but excesses should be avoided, whether created through generosity or extravagance. Although full of insights, this month looks rather bumpy for interpersonal relationships and international ones too.
Saturn
June opens with Saturn and Mercury doing a do-si-do in a square dance. On June 3rd Saturn squares Mercury at its station while turning direct. Two days later, Mercury squares Saturn at ITS station while turning retrograde. They pass within a whisper of each other, the conjunction not perfected but it is reinforced by the extra tenacity of stationary planets. Mercury-square-Saturn tends to cast a rather gloomy mood to the start of the month. There’s also possible violence a-foot with Mars in Aries squaring rebellious Lilith, while Saturn’s stationary point on the 4th is conjunct the US National Moon, which could mean wide-spread national mourning, depression, and outrage around more pointless killing. But it is NOT a suitable time for GUN negotiations due to misunderstandings and delays… so once again, NOTHING IS DONE!
But on June 8th a grand trine forms between Moon, Mercury, and Pluto with the latter two sextile Neptune, creating 1 or 2 propitious kites, a mystic rectangle and almost a grand hexagram that forms a diamond of karmic visions, transformative dreams, and life-altering meditations. Make June 8th a day of deep self-examination, reflection, and peace as it could present the least stressful and most prepicious day of the month!
Saturn is finally wrapping up its T-square with the Moon’s Nodes after 3 long months of determined, unyielding, fixated domination and control over people and situations. The Nodes are in Taurus and Scorpio, while Saturn is in Aquarius, so all 3 are stubbornly in fixed signs, aligned in a rigid T-square. Under this aspect and times (March to May 2022), ambitious individuals have been driven to TAKE power over others in support of their own personal beliefs, and they are willing to overwhelm majorities while manipulating systems and exercising autocratic control to get their way. They will persevere until their aims are achieved and their beliefs are ‘vindicated’. Thankfully, this vise grip on our world is now beginning to ease, however it will release slowly, because they ARE getting their way.
Full Moon
June 14th’s Full Moon is in Sagittarius reflecting a Gemini Sun. This lunation squares Neptune which sextiles Pluto, so illusions and destructive conspiracy theories are thriving … (and so is personal spirituality), as a slew of misinformation dominates public discusssions. This major square of the month, illustrates the neccesity of healing the unfortunate proliferation of untruths, exacerbating the partisan split over WHAT IS TRUTH? and DOES IT EVEN MATTER?
Jupiter in Aries, fiercely moving forward to capture the moment, also sesquisquares the South Node (ignoring past precident) and semi-squares the North Node conjunct Venus. This is a critical moment for women! New laws, are messing with women’s destinies and will require correction and healing later, stressing out young women because of such over-the-top decisions. (Roe vs Wade?) This overturning of a popular law will seriously impact relationships between men (the oppressors who escape scott-free) and women, who are SO OFTEN unfairly oppressed by the acts of men… due to out-dated patriarchal thinking!
Yet, as Mercury leaves Venus-ruled Taurus and enters androgenous Gemini while trining Pluto, the planet of death, it is disingenuous to believe that the serious life contraints being placed on women against their will are justified by the narrow-minded patriarchal tunnel vision of its MALE sponsors – who are in the minority! It’s not about saving lives (or gun control would have more support among these same vindictive progenitors). This marks a culture of Handmaidens (fertile young women) as ‘baby-factories’, used to provide ‘product’ to expand adoptions (and the money they generate) while restricting women’s ability to contribute consistently and meaningfully within society in the ways they aspire to and envision.
Because every woman who ever was pregnant was impregnated by a MAN, while ONLY SHE is punished, ONLY her life was radically altered by this fact, while the man with the sperm that initiated the pregnancy is invisible before the law! Such hypocrisy is inexcusable, especially when it comes to men raping women, incesting their daughters, or when the woman’s life is at risk! Actually every pregnancy and birth puts the woman at risk for 9 months, and a significant number of pregnant women DO DIE when giving birth! But frankly, the wizened old men of the Court and the Senate simply don’t care who is harmed by their diabolical laws, if it allows them to weild power over WOMEN!
Summer Solstice
June 21st is Summer Soltice in the Northern hemisphere. The Solstice Sun sextiles Mars for energy and action, it squares Neptune, as an acknowledgement of the misinformation flooding the airways and social media. And it trines Saturn, which may represent the Supreme Court‘s part in this drama.
The Moon (the People) conjuncts Jupiter for ‘good times’ but it has a harsh aspect to the Nodes of Fate which suggests that something that deeply affects our society is out of alignment and needs to be ‘set right’. ONLY after that can there be healing over this issue. Putin’s war, gun violence, or the unraveling of Roe vs Wade and the attempt to subjugate women – these all qualify as being in need of correcting because these three are destroying people’s lives! They are causing pain as shown by Mars conjunct Chiron and Venus square Saturn.
Uranus and the North Node are approaching each other in Taurus, exact on August 1st. These are bound to stir up trouble – in the courts, in the streets, and possibly in our lives. Expect the Unexpected!
New Moon
This New Moon on the 28th of June squares Jupiter (misplaced enthusiasm and exasperation) while in harsh aspect to Saturn where a legal body forces its stern dictates on the rest of the population that disagrees by a large majority, while private doctrine is forced upon the public body. Our only hope is Jupiter trining the DC Midheaven while sextiling Venus which could mean that women will be spared the worst scenarios, and find some sort of JUSTICE (Jupiter and Saturn) to move forward with their feminine autonomy intact.
Pluto
Next month marks the second exact pass of the notorious Pluto Return. Transiting Pluto is already at the same 27-degree Capricorn position as Pluto in the US 1776 birth chart. Part of what this Pluto-on-Pluto represents is the violent and self-destructive ultra-partisan split that is tearing the USA apart from within. Happening in the US 2nd house of finance, it is demanding a governmental transformation of the extremes of US Capitalism itself, as our economic systems come under scrutiny for where they have failed us as a nation and the world at large as well.
The World is also being restructured by Putin’s war on Ukraine (Pluto) and the disruption of markets and supply chains that will result in wide-spread starvation, not only in Ukraine and Russia, but in Africa and variously around the world! Meanwhile, hold onto your hats and tighten your seat belts for a rough ride through the political rapids this month and into an uncertain summer.
Prepare mentally for an uncertain future
Just remember that despite a world in chaos amidst the 6th mass extinction of perhaps 80% of all life on earth (yes, that includes humans), we each determine our own realities according to our intentions, actions and beliefs, so be clear within yourself about what is important to you and follow that path where ever it leads. Don’t be a pawn within a system that does not support a life you consider worth living, and choose your options with an eye to an unstable future. This means preparing ourselves for inevitable disruptions in our daily and planetary affairs.
How do we prepare for that? Be flexible of mind and willing to ADAPT in order to survive. Give some serious thought about what you CAN DO to protect yourself and loved ones, should the times get really dire, which they may sometime within the next 2 decades. Do you live where food is grown and can you grow any yourself? Are you living in a community where you have some social and/or financial support, where neighbors will help each out in a crisis? If you are in a known fire or earthquake area, and a fire or earthquake forces you to evacuate quickly, is your car pre-loaded with non-perishable food, water, extra warm clothes, blankets and camping supplies? Prepare a satchel of important docs, cash, credit cards, essential meds, etc. that can be grabbed quickly on the way out and are refreshed periodically.
Know how to turn off the gas so a wildfire flame can’t find a pilot light and ignite your home. Should you turn off the water so broken or frozen pipes won’t flood your home? Or should you leave the water on for firefighters to access? The problem with emergencies is that we don’t expect them to happen, so we aren’t prepared for them.
The antidote is to BE PREPARED! The first step is to mentally review your situation and make a plan for emergencies, do the prep, and share the plan with important others, including where to meet later and who to contact.
What will you do if electricity goes out for weeks or possibly years? The digital world could go away completely, and if it does, how will you survive? Are there caves or tunnels near where you live that you could outfit for a disaster? Or if that is not feasible, would it make sense to prepare an underground bunker? (not in flood areas) The Sun may send serious flares or a nova that could completely undo the electric world, so wood stoves, if you live near a forest, might be a consideration for both cooking and heat, at least as a backup. And consider moving away from coasts and hot areas while you can, as such areas will get wetter and hotter until climate migration sends millions of people scrambling to higher and cooler elevations which might also become very cold in winter. How will you deal with others who ‘have nothing’ and are starving? Or if it’s you that has to move, where will you go? Think about such scenarios so that you are at least mentally prepared to quickly respond should a situation require you to.
