MOMENTUM BUILDS
Sliding into October looks relatively smooth with a fortuitous Grand Trine between the Sun, North Node and Saturn, which gives us a positive perspective on where we can go from here. Pay attention to the details, timing, and the authenticity of your path as you step into new territory.
New Moon
Expect to become increasingly energized as the Sun catches up with Mars and is joined by the New Moon at 13 degrees Libra on October 6th. This triumvirate of planets trines Jupiter in Aquarius (intellectual openness) and opposes Chiron in Aries (restless curiosity triggering risky impulses). Both aspects can stimulate an over-estimation of one’s personal power, strength, and luck so that we could push ourselves too hard, too fast, or too far, exaggerating our passions, our beliefs, our communications, our workouts, or our ambitions.
Too much is not always a good thing, even when it feels like progress, so SLOW DOWN before you wound yourself or others. [NOTE: New Moons are always new beginnings, so set your intentions for the lunation around the 6th. Sabian Symbol suggestion: “Take some time off”.]
With Sun, Moon, Mercury, Mars, and Venus all in Libra, the most appropriate place to put our energies this New Moon is on resolving relationship issues that have arisen – whether at home, on the job, or in social situations – and be open to starting new personal encounters with others as well. Just do not overdo it or push too hard! We all have experienced some sort of PTSD from the traumas of the last several years, so be gentle with each other, even when we vehemently disagree. Libra is the Master of Love, so remember to open your heart during this Libra season.
Once Venus enters Sagittarius on October 7th, much chatter is likely to erupt vehemently (Sun conjunct Mars) about how our personal freedoms (Sun, Moon, Mars, and Mercury Rx – all in Libra – the scales of justice) have been threatened by government policies as the newly direct planets move forward individually to square Pluto and reap the consequences of our decisions and actions. Once Mars squares Pluto on the 22nd, warrior energy is triggered. This combination of aspects could spark more violence at Capitals and seats of government (Pluto in Capricorn), both at home and abroad, as the fight to determine “what is TRUTH” is fought intellectually, while rising anger can be quite viceral throughout the month.
4 Direct
Meanwhile, on October 8th, Mars (in its detriment in Libra, offering defensive criticisms) siddles up to the Sun, who absorbs the Martian energy to illuminate issues more brightly, while Venus leaves shadowy Scorpio and enters lucky-and-fun Sagittarius. Financial markets (including crypto-currencies) sank in September as Venus (money and possessions) transited Scorpio (sign of “death, debt, and taxes” as well as secrets and dark obsessions). But I expect market values to recover temporarily when Venus enters expansive Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius on October 8th.
However, IF this resonance with planets’ astrological signs continues to influence markets, they will probably sink again when Venus enters stern Saturn-ruled Capricorn on November 6th and America’s Pluto return (there will be 3 exact passes in 2022) in America’s national chart’s 2nd house of money. Pluto’s impact strengthens, destructively at first, and then transformatively. Therefore, markets and supply chains may not recover easily because the final square between Saturn and Uranus (hard changes) hits in late December with some serious setbacks, “bollixing up the works”, as America fast approaches her dreaded Pluto return. October 2021 may be the last market high we see in a long while! Tighten your belts and plan ahead, as hard economic times appear to be on the horizon.
But for now, Sun trines Jupiter on October 15th for an expansive few days until, on the 18th, the Sun squares Pluto, crashing our high spirits with bad news and images of destruction and loss. That same day both Mercury and Jupiter turn direct, joining Pluto and Saturn. There’s a lot to process with all these forward changes of direction… New messages are revealed as Mercury goes direct just before the Full Moon. Meanwhile, Mercury also trines naughty Lilith opposing Chiron in blunt Aries, so be careful not to hurt others inadvertently with your words.
Full Moon
The Aries Moon becomes full on October 20th, reflecting brightly the opposing Libra Sun’s rays, while initiating actions and trying to resolve the conundrum between independence (Aries) versus partnership (Libra). The Sun is still conjunct Mars and trine Jupiter while T-squaring Pluto, so energy continues to run extremely high and emotions are volatile. Conspiracy theories, misconceptions, and delusions persist into November while Jupiter sits on the midpoint between Neptune and Pluto, expanding both delusion and outrage once folks begin to realize that they have been deceived and lied to. The message here is to be resourceful (Jupiter) and courageous (Pluto) in the face of confusing circumstances (Neptune).
On October 30th Mars joins Venus and the Sun in Scorpio which can spark self-righteous rage at whatever or whoever challenges you. On the positive side, Scorpio season is a good time for elimination. Clean out your closets, your colon, go on a diet, and rid yourself of excess. With the depth of Scorpio, it’s also a fabulous time for psychological analysis and self-healing. Decommission old wounds, habits, and toxic patterns that no longer serve your evolution.
Halloween
Although the Sun squares Saturn on the last day of the month (increasing tensions) Mercury is chasing fun-loving Venus in Sagittarius with a friendly sextile, while trining Jupiter (increasing good vibes), potentially making this Halloween a pleasant social event rather than a scarey one. Trouble-maker-Mars is entering Virgo on the 31st where his normally fiery energy is dampened by the earth element, and Virgo’s conscientious nature kicks in to keep him in line. The Moon trines Uranus also, which adds excitement and surrendipity along with unexspected revelations.
So Happy Halloween and enjoy your get-togethers with friends while watching out for pranksters on the prowl.
BOO!
