Venus
On June 2nd Venus enters Cancer, getting very emotional, especially because she is “out-of-bounds” or at extreme declination, where she tends to express in an exaggerated or anti-social manner, often around issues of insecurity or self-worth. But she will be blessed for the first 10 days of June by Venus trine Jupiter enabling easy social situations where she feels well-liked. This good feeling may be cut short on the 9th when Venus squares Chiron in Aries which could inflict a wound. Venus recovers quickly and expresses her unique flare on the 12th to 15th with a sextile to Uranus.
As June wraps up, Venus conjuncts Mars which opens inter-gender empathy as we slip into July. Forecast: There will be 3 good weeks in July to work out relationship issues, or choose to separate. Prepare your case now, to yourself and then to others. If you can’t, then let it go.
Mars’ energy stream
June begins with Mars opposing Pluto, triggering aggressions and animosities, conflicts and rumors of wars. But also Mars trines Neptune, activating imagination and facilitating flow. On June 12th Mars forms an inconjunct with Jupiter, meaning that quirky energy needs fine tuning. By June 21st and the Solstice, Mars opposes Saturn, delaying forward progress, while on the 26th Mars squares Uranus to rebel and disrupt. But on the 28th Mars trines Chiron, answering questions, solving problems, and healing issues.
Eclipse Season
The last Full Moon on May 26th was a total Supermoon Lunar Eclipse along the Gemini Sun/Sagittarius Moon axis conjunct the Nodes. When a lunation (New Moon or Full Moon) is conjunct the Nodes, we have an ECLIPSE in solar alignments. It is that extra “Nodal destiny factor” that shakes things up. There can be 3 eclipses, even 4, but 2 is the norm twice every year. Then the final eclipse of the season sets the stage for the approximate 6-month period until the next eclipse season begins.
During this late May eclipse, the Sun and Moon both squared Jupiter, especially strong in Pisces, which Jupiter rules. Here the double square forms a T, squeezing the planet in a vice-like grip, which creates huge tension, even for such a mighty planet. Jupiter generally spends a year in each sign, but not this year. On June 20th Jupiter will retrograde backwards and on July 29th will re-enter intellectual Aquarius for the remainder of the year. The gift Jupiter-in-Pisces brings is a softening of our humanity and an opening to caring, compassion, and understanding, and we are getting a “sneak peek” into what 2022 will feel like when Jupiter returns to Pisces during the next New Year’s time.
This Lunar Eclipse Jupiter triggered Washington, DC’s Midheaven (career, reputation) from the 9th house, which pertains to beliefs and principles, a house Jupiter also rules. Mid-May Strife shook the nation over THE BIG LIE, Trump, and the January 6th insurrection as Republican Leader Liz Cheney stood by her oath to speak her TRUTH and was ousted for it. She was correct in that it is time to CHOOSE what’s important. It may be hard, but all of us need to stand up for what we believe to be true, regardless of consequences. We are being tested!
The New Moon Solar Eclipse of June 10th has Sun, Moon, and retrograde Mercury square Neptune, which feels both exhausting and psychologically discouraging, so lay low and beware of Neptune’s ability to deceive. Your idealism may be stimulated, but your goals need to be realistic as Saturn favorably aligns with the North Node (good decisions) but squares Uranus (destabilization).
Mars remains in opposition to Pluto (exact on June 5th) while entering proud Leo on June 11th for several weeks of potentially high ego combined with political antagonisms. Expect skirmishes, possibly with foreigners (Uranus).
Nonetheless, this eclipse’s Saros signature is unusually creative, triggering sudden psychic flashes, visions, or prophetic dreams. This represents the dichotomy of 2 worlds between which you must choose: the outer warring world of drama and lies, or the the inner, more personal world of evolving consciousness. Don’t be fooled by the externals. Keep your eye on the Path.
[The Saros System refers to families of eclipses, with a “sibling” eclipse spiraling around again every 18 years. Members of each Eclipse Family all bear the message of the original eclipse chart, blended with a unique set of transits and whatever they reveal. On June 10th we have the psychic imprint of the original 5 North Eclipse Family which is visionary and uplifting, over-printed with the challenging, chaotic energies of pulsing tensions and shifting focuses, characteristic of the times that we live in.]
Saturn square Uranus
As Uranus (an unpredictable rebel) faces off with Saturn (the status quo), a tense clash will ensue that will bring significant societal CHANGE to our world. This is the second hit of THE major aspect of 2021, with the final pass coming at Christmas time.
Uranus represents “the People” while Saturn holds the Power of Authority. Can we expect a toppling of “the Mighty” as the worker classes demand systemic change and greater equality in economics, voting rights, racial justice, healthcare, and housing? One would expect so with this tense (square) aspect, but change can be both surprisingly quick (Uranus) and exasperatingly slow (Saturn). Nonetheless, we cannot allow the greed of the few to continue destroying this beautiful, but slowly dying planet, which sustains us all!
However, it’s not just the wealthiest, the 1%, and the Corporations that will have to change. ALL of us must give up old habits and our attachment to our things, our comforts, our mindsets, and sometimes our relationships too. It will not be easy! Yet change is inevitable and Saturn-square-Uranus is the “Handmaiden of Change”.
Summer Solstice
June 20th marks the Summer’s Aries Point moment (Sun at 0 degrees Cancer) and the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere, as the Sun enters Cancer, the water sign of summer, heart, and hearth, protector of children, family, and the homeland, steward of the Earth, who nurtures with empathy and heals with wholesome food. The focus for the month ahead will be on our families, our homes, and our property, making them comfy and welcoming, and a safe harbor to retreat to as we regenerate our souls.
The Solstice chart is complex, revealing tensions and emotional stresses mingled with impulsive urges, as we strive to heal ourselves and our world. Double mind Mercury-in-Gemini is stationary, alert and imaginative, developing well-thought-out plans to push forward (Mercury turns direct on June 23rd), despite contrary disagreements and unforeseeable obstacles (Moon-square-Saturn-square-Uranus-oppose-Moon).
Conflicts and unrealistic romantic fantasies (Neptune-trine-Venus-oppose-Pluto) complicates matters further and slows progress, especially now that Mercury, Pluto, and Saturn have all gone retrograde, and Jupiter is stationary at the Solstice, ready to turn back in order to pick up some dropped stitch or forgotten step, especially when Jupiter re-enters Aquarius on July 28th (until Dec 28th when Jupiter enters Pisces once again until May 2022).
Saturn opposes Mars in stubborn fixed signs, blocking progress for several weeks (exact on July 1st), while Venus in Cancer is at odds with her Master-controller, Pluto-in-Capricorn. Venus feels helpless and submissive, so she may retreat, while Uranus in Taurus is chafing under rising pressure from Saturn and the Earth, and is ready to explode, possibly triggering volcanoes or other seismic events after June 26th when Mars-opposed-Saturn-T-squares-Uranus until July 11th, a potentially explosive period which could spark geological rattlings and/or international conflicts.
Meanwhile, Jupiter trines the radiant Sun in a grand trine with the Moon on Solstice day, Venus trines Moon and Neptune on the 21st, Mars grand-trines Chiron and the South Node (Mars sextiles North Node also) on the 24th into July, so we are hopeful that everything will work out, if we can just be patient enough to take our time before making decisions, despite tendencies toward impulsivity.
Full Moon
June 24: the pendulum swings to the positive. Tension dissipates under a Capricorn/Cancer Full Moon as we review the self-analysis lessons we learned during the isolation of 2020 under the Capricorn Saturn-Jupiter-Pluto stellium.
At last adversaries can start talking, old wounds can be addressed, positive new ground sprouts before us as consciousness expands, and hope is rekindled as we head into July.
