Overview

The Libra Lunation on October 16th set the tone for the final 2 weeks of October and the first 2 weeks of November. It will be a tense time with Sun/Moon T-squared by retrograde Mars (irritability, ego conflicts, and impatience) on one side, and the Capricorn Stellium of Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn (bringing powerful pressures to bear) on the other. These aspects amp up aggressive attempts to manipulate and control others, with a fog of misinformation swirling around the American electorate. Then on Oct 18th, a Grand Square between the Nodes and Venus opposite Neptune (unrealistic ideals can lead to disappointment), adds even more stress through Oct 24th.

The Full Moon on Halloween shifts attention to our National Destiny with a crucial election just 3 days away. On November 1st Mercury trines the North Node (focusing one’s message) but also squares Saturn (consequential negotiations delayed) until Nov 12th. Unfortunately, the Sun opposes Uranus all election week, stirring up revolutionary acts, as fear and chaos grip the nation.
Election Day
The November 3rd Sun trines Neptune, with high hopes and expectations, while Venus opposes Chiron, bringing vulnerability and worry. With Mercury stationary (standing still) on Election Day, results will be delayed, despite Mercury turning direct on the 4th. By the 5th the Moon forms a Grand Water Trine with Sun and Neptune, as we hold our proverbial breath, waiting for electoral outcomes to be announced. By the 6th, tensions mount as a T-square to indecisive Mercury-in-Libra forms from emotional Moon-in-Cancer opposite the super-consequential Capricorn Cluster. EMOTIONS RUN VERY HIGH!

Mercury-in-Libra squares Saturn on November 5th which suggests some unfortunate news or further election delays announced (around mail-in ballots?). Will a candidate be declared on Nov. 7th as the Sun breaks free of its opposition to Uranus? It’s possible, with a Venus-opposite-Mars-trine-Moon aspect – a short-term indicator of positive, creative, or sexual relations which also includes conflicting gender attitudes and protests. Tumultuous upheavals will undoubtedly continue during such an extreme month as Mercury opposes Uranus from November 12-20th.
Jupiter/Pluto

On November 12th, Jupiter conjuncts Pluto exactly for the final of 3 passes – amplifying, exaggerating, and emboldening behaviors, each pass corresponding to a COVID wave peak. Jupiter in Capricorn relates to justice and the law, while Pluto in Capricorn tries to eradicate corruption (especially from giant corporations and government), so court cases are likely. Huge Tech Companies are under scrutiny for potential down-sizing. Scandals and fabrications are rampant. And the post-electoral process may be quite unruly at times – possibly in extreme and shocking ways.
On the up-side, the Jupiter-Pluto effect encourages and deepens our sense of purpose as we ambitiously try to get ahead, despite the pandemic. And money may flow mid-month (stimulus checks?) OR NOT, as Saturn, the ruler of Capricorn, awakens us to time and resource limitations. New awareness and insights emerge as Pluto intensifies the mind, while Jupiter broadens our view. Together they inspire us to ignite determination and envision positive futures. Meanwhile, nearby Saturn reminds us to actualize our “better angels” if we can. The good news is that this wave will be our last COVID peak, but be warned that this peak (November into December) will be the worst and will take some time to unwind once the peak passes. Use masks, hand-washing and distancing for protection of self and others. Considerable pandemic residue will spill over into 2021, although vaccines will help us return to relative normalcy before that year is out, but probably not this winter.
Mars Direct

On November 14th Mars turns direct (forward motion) after 2 months moving retrograde, when Mars tends to backfire and lose momentum. Such dysfunction lowers human vitality, so you could suffer from cuts, temper, inflammation, impatience, frustration, or accidents while Mars is retrograde, but these conditions should dissipate as Mars picks up forward momentum. Mars direct is assertive and dynamic, impulsive and sexual, physical and aggressive, hasty and sometimes reckless. The Scorpio New Moon occurs late on November 14th for most of the USA, when Mercury opposite Uranus brings intuitive insights, innovation, and outbursts. Watch your tongue.

Venus
Venus spends most of November in Libra, the sign where she graciously promotes the arts, beauty, fashion, and loves becoming a star on social media. She is a fabulous hostess, diplomatically encouraging others to be kind in social situations and relationships. However, obstruction to her best intentions arises between November 13th to the 19th as Venus opposes Mars (blocked action), squares Pluto (ruler of debt and taxes), squares Jupiter (extravagance and intemperance), and squares Saturn (inhibition and limitation). As co-ruler of finance, Venus can also impact the stock market, so watch out for speed bumps, especially once Venus enters the worrisome sign of Scorpio (ruled by Mars and Pluto) on November 22nd which can expose secrets and dark money, increase anxiety, and depress future expectations.
Neptune
Uranus conjoins the Moon again on November 27 for more uncertainty. Then Neptune turns direct on November 28th after being retrograde for 5 months. Neptune rules dreams and visions, confusion and deception – which apparently expresses the theme of this 2020 election. Neptune’s July ‘20 to March ‘21 square to the Moon’s Nodes is bookmarking this tragic period in our national story.
Lunar Eclipse

Another tough Full Moon occurs on the last day of the month with harsh aspects from both Sun and Moon to the Capricorn Cluster, sparking a cathartic emotional release. This is the first eclipse since July 4th (analysis will come in December on the upcoming eclipse season).
